Although in theory a priceless recording of the Spacemen performing one long flowing number live, this is spoilt by having been recorded in the foyer of the Riverside Studios. the music is therfore contaminated with sounds of people drinking tea and chatting, and also with frequent calls to go oto the cinema before the film starts. I listened to it once, then flogged it. This CD has a couple of extra tracks which are little more than studio ramblings and simply should never have been issued - Sympathy for the Record Industry? - not when they try and rip people off like this... t wilson Here's the thing about Dreamweapon...the tea-drinking-movie-starting ambience is what makes it. The sonic fundamental basis of SP3 is halucenigenics. If you have every taken a step outside your head, and listened to anything, you'll know that you hear more than you thought you did. this is the album that saw Sonic Boom and jason Spaceman taking one side each, as they were no longer talking to each other - Sonic's is the more variable of the two sides, tho' there are 2-3 good numbers - Jason's has the two best tracks tho', namely 'Billy Whizz/Blue1' and the one before it (can't remember what it's called). Still, an album definitely worth getting, bearing in mind they're the best band ever. Alongside 'Perfect Prescription', this is the best that the Spacemen achieved. Totally sublime ambient numbers sit alongside their uptempo 'hit' 'Revolution' and the brilliant 13 minute instrumental 'Suicide'. It's such a good album i have to stop myself trying to persuade people (including myself, even though i have a copy) to buy it when in music stores. t wilson Pooterland review
