Josh Homme of Kyuss is the main figure in this band. With members of Screaming Trees, Monster Magnet, Soundgarden and others he recorded the Dessert Sessions for Man's Ruin.

Queens Of The Stone Age is quite hard stuff. If you don't mind this and you are open to some experiments buy their last record. Listen to same tunes on their homepage. Betti

Queens of the Stone Age are one of the most essential and influential bands of the stoner rock scene since Kyuss disbanded. I could sit back close my eyes and listen to these guys all fucking day. QOTSA are easily one of my favorite bands of all time! stoner rocker 69

Produced by Chris Goss (Masters of Reality). Betti

Rated R is a little softer compared to their previous album, which was released on Roadrunner Records, a giant record company in the metal scene. But Queens Of The Stone Age aren't quite metal, they're hard rock with softer tendancies. Since the release of Rated R, the track Feel Good Hit Of The Summer has become a sort of anthem for the drug-fucked youth in various places around the world, as well as the youth that wish (and I mean that all in a good way).

This album is definately worth listening to. The hard rock side of QOTSA is evident in a lot of the tracks, such as Leg Of Lamb. Though if you've listened to the first album, you'd be able to tell that QOTSA are experimenting with their hard rock sound in this album through tracks like Better Living Through Chemistry.  John Cheek
