Their first new release in four years. Featuring the current line-up of DANIEL BARONE, MELYNDA JACKSON, LAUREN K. NEWMAN, and DANIEL OSBORNE plus guest musician STEVEN WRAY LOBDELL, the album continues in the same heavy, lysergic vein as their last couple of records, fusing wicked metallic crunch with ethereal, effects-laden guitar freakouts and some of their most narcotized jamming yet. On their new (2003) release this San Francisco based space-ensemble explores psychedelic terrain, creating their most composed record to date. Ideas crafted from the depths of improvisation to a set of razor-sharp songs, reminding of the acid-jam rhythmic grooves of Meddle-era Pink Floyd. It is quite fitting that San Francisco's finest avatars of
cosmic rock crossed the Atlantic Ocean and ended up in Nürnberg, Germanyin their hunt for the right label for releasing their new album "A Newand Exact Map". This is undoubtedly an attempt to combine the prime ofguitar-based space rock world with a deep plunge into the alluring poolof German Krautish electronica. The result is a deep sound with an earfor detail that never has been this evident on any of SubArachnoidSpace's four previous studio albums. The alien frequencies of thefifteen minute long epochal atmospheric instrumental "Indy Maru" ispossibly the most shining example of the compositional sense thatflavors the different elements of the tracks. Floating synth, guitardrones, vox organ, sampling and soft but distinctive

5th album by San Francisco improv outfit. Extended flowing instrumental tunes with progressive, experimental & space rock elements. Throbbing bass and partly euphoric, partly repetitive drums create the basis for synthesizer and guitar excursions. Moods vary from psychedelic soundscapes to ambient atmospheres to space rock bliss. Featured on 15 min. track "Indy Maru" is Doug Ferguson (Yeti, Ohm) on vox organ. Buy record at ( CD 13.30 EUR) Greatest Hits Mailorder (D) change

The cosmic large and small sounds. Distorted guitars screw through microscopic labyrinths. A solid rhythmsline of drum and bass drifts the wrong way and opens new caverns full of sparkling diamonds of sounds and loops. The tension is increased continiously until it reaches the backbone and dives into silence. After three quarters of this record, a meditative effect take place, one will like it, the other won't. The endless renovation (of the spirit) is alway there and the complex variety of the sound definitly asks for mindexpanding substances. alie

Back in. The first proper studio album of these SF based space trippers delivers what their previous 3 live/rehearsal CD's promised: six extended tracks of open-ended psych rock improvisation, a progressive journey through space. Structures of beauty and magic built with organ, cello, synth etc. on a drum/bass/guitar space rock basis. Buy record at ( CD currently not in stock ) Greatest Hits Mailorder (D) change

Back in. "Envelopes you within 60 minutes of sublime improvistional psychedelia for fans of Skullflower, Fushitsusha and 70's space rock. Features trance guitar experimentalist Mason Jones." Imagine the live portion of Pink Floyd's Ummagumma, but while the Floyds returned to earth, this space unit explores the edge.
