this British psychedelic rock band emerged in 1990 with the classic LP Other Way Out. Reflecter (1992), was the band's 2nd album release (but in fact, was their 3rd album after "Return Journey", which wasn't issued until 1994) and reached the Indie Top 5, prompting a deal with Beggars Banquet. "The Complete Second Album Sessions". Following their 1990 debut, Other Way Out, Sun Dial set about recording a follow-up at legendary producer Vic Keary's studios in Chalk Farm, London. Sun Dial had now signed with the UFO label but the sessions for Return Journey were abandoned. A 12" EP, Overspill, was all that was salvaged for release on UFO. Thereafter, Sun Dial reconvened to record what would become their second album, Reflecter, leaving Return Journey in the vaults until a belated release of sorts on Acme in 1994. This deluxe edition of Return Journey is the definitive version, remastered from the original, recently re-discovered tapes. Disc 2 contains different mixes. I bought this album back in 1992 and
I have to say that this is simply the best UK neo psychedelic album of all -there's magic everywhere throughout this album.Sun Dial of this album and the fantastic 'Return Journey',rank amongst the best neo psych there, high up together with 'Word of life' and Simones.
